The Importance of Vastu in Modern Living

People usually come to Vastu at a turning point — a new home, a business that has stalled, a stretch of poor sleep. The instinct is understandable: when something feels off, the space you spend most of your hours in is a reasonable place to look.
The most common corrections are unglamorous. Clear the entrance so the door opens fully. Move the bed so your head is not under a window. Take the mirror off the wall facing the bed. Give the north-east corner light and keep it uncluttered. Put the heavy cupboard in the south-west rather than the north.
What makes these work is not mystery. An entrance you can walk through without turning sideways changes how it feels to come home. A bedroom without a mirror reflecting movement is a bedroom you sleep better in. The tradition encoded a great deal of practical observation, and it holds up.
Where Vastu earns its keep in a modern home is consistency. It gives you a single framework for decisions that would otherwise be made piecemeal, room by room, and it explains why the whole arrangement should hang together.
